Job Description:

SIMEDHealth is currently looking for--a Full--Time Data Entry Clerk to join the Digestive Disease Division--in our--Gainesville, FL office.----The Date Entry Clerk is responsible for the entry of claims on a daily basis. --The Data Entry Clerk will perform multiple functions to submit correct information on outgoing claims. --The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for ensuring that the data entered into the computer system, insurance information gathered and authorized are done so in a timely and accurate fashion. --The Data Entry Clerk must fulfill the duties of his/her position while remembering Customer Service and professionalism are key components of this position.Qualified candidates will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalency REQUIRED
  • Proficiency in utilizing a computer, internet and word processing programs REQUIRED
  • Allscripts ProPM/ProEHR software experience preferred
  • Intergy or similar software experience preferred
  • 1-2 years previous medical office experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred--The following are some of the duties which may be required of you:
    • The following are duties which may be required of you as a Data Entry Clerk. Duties are assigned based on the clinic need and not all may be applicable.
    • Is proficient in HIPAA and Medical Records Rights to Access policies and procedures and adheres to them
    • Demonstrates organizational skills
    • Correctly and efficiently inputs all data into system
    • Compiles, Processes, Understands and is knowledgeable of required patient forms (consent for treatment, etc)
    • Can respond to patient requests in a professional and appropriate manner.
    • Prints notes to be attached to claims
    • Assists with posting of charges
    • Can process incoming/outgoing referrals and obtain proper authorizations.
    • In Allscripts ProPM and IntergyPM, is able too---- --View patient data, verifies Name/Address/Phone for data entry--o---- --View/search, utilize and understands appropriate diagnosis codeso---- --Document notes, conversations, etc., appropriatelyo---- --Check for proper documentation (Picture ID, Demographics, New Patient Forms)--o---- --Tasks colleagues and respond to tasks in medical record effectively and appropriatelyo---- --Schedule Appointments & Procedureso---- --Print Encounter Forms and Other Reportso---- --Creates --& Uses Ailments Correctlyo---- --Navigate throughout EMR effectively
    • Utilizing AR Skills and Functions:--o---- --Understands how to collect monies (Co-pays, Debts, Co-Insurance) and complete receipts-- -- correctly.o---- --Performs Timely, Daily Entry of Encounter Forms / Accurate Charge Posting (In/Outpatient)o---- --Balances Cash Drawer, Performs Appropriate Daily Cash Balancing Procedures
    • Insurance: --Knowledge accepted insurances, insurance cards, --and Third Party Payorso---- --Insurance: --Verifies & obtains authorizations for all plans
    • Keep work area clean and tidy
