Reporter We strive to write the local stories the rest of the world will be writing about in a few months. Our reporters are 21st-century multimedia reporters, posting their stories and photos to the web, promoting them through radio ads and interacting with readers through social media. Responsibilities: --- Reporters must also have strong writing skills, ability to self-edit, fact check, and familiarity with AP Style. --- Community-minded; live in or near coverage area. --- Reporters must be flexible, able to collaborate, and able to multi task. --- Ability to cultivate and maintain contacts while representing the organization in a professional manner. --- Proven ability to multi task, prioritize and work on deadline. --- Willing to work a flexible schedule that changes from day to day. --- Some night and weekend reporting is necessary. --- Previous newsroom experience is preferred. Requirements: --- Successful completion of drug screen and background check. --- Must possess a valid Florida Driver---s License, meet company insurability standards, and have reliable transportation. --- Must have the ability to cover multiple beats and look at a computer screen for long periods of time as well as discerning colors Compensation ranges $15-17/hour.
