Job Description Job Description Description: We are seeking a
Fire Sprinkler Operations Manager that will be responsible for the
overall leadership, performance, profitability, compliance, and
strategic direction of the Fire Sprinkler Department across all
operational areas. This role provides full oversight of project
management, field operations, supervision, installation teams,
administrative coordination, scheduling, safety compliance,
contract execution, lien compliance coordination, budgeting, and
workforce development. The Fire Sprinkler Operations Manager
ensures all sprinkler construction and service projects are
delivered on time, within budget, in compliance with NFPA standards
and local codes, and in alignment with company policies and
financial objectives. This position is accountable for
department-wide operational excellence, workforce performance,
customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. Provide full operational
oversight of the Fire Sprinkler Department across all regions and
project types. Develop and implement departmental goals aligned
with company strategic initiatives. Establish KPIs for project
performance, labor efficiency, safety, revenue, and profitability.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow,
productivity, and margins. Collaborate with Executive Leadership on
forecasting, capacity planning, and growth strategies. Oversee all
Fire Sprinkler Project Managers, Field Supervisors, Foremen,
Fitters, and support staff. Ensure proper project planning,
scheduling, manpower allocation, and material procurement. Monitor
job costing, labor tracking, productivity reports, and budget
adherence. Conduct regular project reviews to ensure timelines,
scope compliance, and financial performance. Resolve escalated
project issues including scope disputes, change orders, delays, and
client concerns. Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction
meetings to ensure operational readiness. Ensure proper
documentation, submittals, RFIs, and closeout packages are
completed accurately. Maintain full P&L responsibility for the
Fire Sprinkler Department. Review contracts in coordination with
executive leadership to ensure operational feasibility. Ensure
proper execution of change orders and billing milestones.
Coordinate with Contracts/Lien administration to protect company
financial interests and ensure compliance with lien timelines where
applicable. Monitor receivables in collaboration with accounting to
minimize aged AR. Recruit, hire, mentor, and develop Project
Managers, Supervisors, Foremen, and field staff. Conduct
performance evaluations and implement performance improvement plans
when needed. Identify training needs and ensure certification
compliance for all team members. Develop succession planning
strategies for key leadership positions within the department.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, professionalism, and
teamwork. Ensure all installations comply with NFPA standards,
local AHJ requirements, and company quality standards. Enforce
strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Conduct periodic jobsite audits for safety, workmanship, and code
compliance. Ensure all required inspections and approvals are
properly scheduled and documented. Maintain licensing compliance
for the department. Coordinate with Sales to ensure accurate
project handoffs and scope clarity. Work cross-functionally with
-Estimating, Purchasing, Accounting, and Executive Leadership.
Oversee scheduling coordination to balance manpower across projects
efficiently. Improve administrative processes to streamline
workflow and reduce operational bottlenecks. Maintain strong
relationships with general contractors, developers, AHJs,
inspectors, and vendors. Represent the company in high-level
meetings and dispute resolution discussions. Ensure high customer
satisfaction and repeat business. Requirements: Training and
Certification Requirements: Minimum 7–10 years of progressive
experience in Fire Sprinkler construction and operations. Minimum 5
years in a leadership or senior management role within fire
protection. Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes and fire
protection standards. NICET Certification (Level III or IV
preferred). Valid state Fire Sprinkler Contractor license (where
applicable). Proven experience managing P&L and departmental
budgets. Strong knowledge of contract documents, construction
schedules, and cost controls. Exceptional leadership, negotiation,
