General Summary: The Engineering and Fabrication Business
Representative is responsible for building strong customer
relationships, identifying new sales opportunities, and driving
revenue growth through prefabricated electrical products and
solutions. This individual will work closely with project managers,
and field leadership to provide tailored solutions that improve
efficiency and reduce labor costs on job sites. The E&F
Business Development Representative will report to the E&F
Manager. Key Responsibilities: Generate new business by site and
office visits within ACE Electric divisions. Promote and sell
prefabricated electrical assemblies such as conduit racks,
stub-ups, wire harnesses, panel builds, and modular assemblies.
Consult with ACE Electric project managers and field leadership to
understand their project needs and provide prefab solutions that
add value and reduce labor hours. Provide technical support and
product recommendations to internal stakeholders. Prepare and
deliver professional sales presentations, bids, and proposals.
Collaborate with prefab and engineering teams to ensure custom
solutions meet customer requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge
of industry trends, products, codes, and regulations. Meet or
exceed quarterly and annual sales targets. Support estimating and
preconstruction teams by providing project intelligence and client
insights. Work with operations and project management to ensure
smooth project handoff and client satisfaction. Stay current on
market trends, competitors, and upcoming capital projects in target
sectors. Preferred Job Skills: Electrical trade experience
(Journeyman or Master Electrician background preferred but not
required). Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes (NEC,
NFPA), and construction processes. Experience working with
electrical wholesalers or prefab shops. Able to demonstrate
advanced computer and keyboard skills to include MS Office Suite.
Acute attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to
maintain required levels of confidentiality when entrusted with
sensitive business, customer, or employee related information.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced
environment. Effective and professional communicator, both written
and verbal. Strong understanding of electrical products,
construction techniques, and prefabrication processes. Ability to
travel regionally (30-40% of the time) across the southeast.
Experience & Requirements: License:Valid state driver's license as
required by job conditions or by the company. Certification: None
required. Education:Bachelor of Science in Building Construction or
similar required. Experience:35 years of outside sales experience,
preferably in the electrical construction or prefab industry.
Travel to jobsites and division offices as needed. Success Metrics:
Volume of qualified opportunities added to pipeline. Awarded
revenue and margin growth. Expansion of client base in target
sectors. Mandatory Hiring Requirements: References, Background
Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Drivers License. Working
Conditions: Work in a climate-controlled office setting with
varying degrees of stress and time pressure. Considerable amount of
time making repetitive motions, sitting, and using a telephone or
computer. Wear personal protective equipment as required. Able to
work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required, to include night
shifts and out-of-town work if required. Required Physical/Mental
Functions: Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined
in Company Safety Handbook. Read and interpret instructional
manuals and written instructions. Must hear and see well (either
natural or with correction). Must be able to bend, stoop, squat,
kneel, push, pull and reach overhead. Able to lift objects weighing
up to 30 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects
weighing up to 20 pounds. Tolerant to prolonged sitting. AAP/EEO
