Reporting to the Director, HR, Nitrogen & Phosphate, the Sr. Manager, Human Resources oversees site HR responsibilities such as professional consultation on employee relations, site recruitment, benefits programs, talent management, labor relations, and employee disciplinary issues to managers and employees. This role oversees activities related to negotiating, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to the White Springs collective bargaining agreement. What you will do: * Oversee a team of two HR Advisors and provide coaching, guidance and career development opportunities as available * Act as a resource relied upon by corporate and site management to assist with needs the site may have from a Human Resources capacity and work with the HR team to provide quality HR services * Oversee the administration and advise on escalated issues performed by the Sr. HR Advisors relating to human resources items such as recruiting and onboarding, exit interviews and terminations, employee relations, absence management, compensation and benefits, and performance management in conjunction with our Center of Excellence and HR Shared Service Center for all employees at the White Springs site * Maintain working relationships with union officials and adhere to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of negotiated contract provisions and company policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions * Provide escalated direction on advisements made to employees, supervisors, and managers regarding Company policy and collective bargaining application interpretation and ensure proper and consistent application * Represent management in investigating, responding to and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between union personnel, supervisor and the management team * Directly participate in the preparation for and during union negotiations and assist with problem resolution as it relates to the White Springs CBA * Review and provide guidance on specialized presentations and training, covering operational and/or technical HR-related information for all White Springs employees that are developed by the Sr. HR Advisors * Determine, gather, and analyze evidentiary information necessary to evaluate compliance issues for various areas in HR * Develop departmental goals and objectives for the site HR department based on higher level goals in the organization * Prepare and present on necessary topics as requested by the business and provide required and specialized reports as necessary * Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations * Oversee and review the HR department budget What you will bring: * A bachelor's degree, preferably in with Human Resources or related field * 8+ years of experience in a Human Resources generalist role within a unionized environment and background in employment law and other government compliance regulations * PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification would be considered an asset * Experience working in SAP would be considered an asset * Ability to travel when necessary (10%) * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community * Experience in a leadership role, strong ability to influence a team and create a collaborative work environment * Ability to use self-guided judgement and to manage confidential information * Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems * Ability to investigate and analyze claims information and to draw conclusions * Ability to prepare and present training programs and materials * Ability to write/amend documents that accurately captures issue(s) * Knowledge of equal opportunity * Knowledge of human resources administration principles and practices * Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulation * Knowledge of compensation administration principles and procedures * Knowledge of FMLA leave policies, procedures, and practices * Knowledge of ADA, FLSA, and other employment legislation and regulations * Knowledge in the field of labor relations * Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively summarize and present information * Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports * Knowledge of current and emerging legislation, issues and trends as appropriate to the position Are you a good match?
