To learn archery, to experience the thrill of riding down a 350 foot zip line, to catch a bass on the shores of Lake Brooklyn. For over a century, we have created friendships and made memories that will last a lifetime. Thousands of people of all ages from all across the nation have experienced Camp Immokalee over the years. After all this time, our goal remains the same: to help everyone that comes through our gates grow socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically. We give our campers the opportunity to learn about themselves in a safe, encouraging environment while they also grow in their relationships with their peers, counselors and parents. We welcome children to take part in the excitement and adventure Immokalee has to offer. We are a camp which believes by doing and having fun. Participants will gain a sense of accomplishment and confidence in themselves. By helping campers recognize their own unique abilities, we find that each camper will step outside of their comfort zones and reach for goals far beyond what they once dreamed was impossible. Camp Immokalee is located in the beautiful city of Keystone Heights, FL. The city was founded by Pennsylvanians who named it after their home state, the "Keystone State." Residents began relocating here in the early 1920's, and the city was chartered in April 1925. Also known as the Lake Region of North Florida, Keystone Heights area offers a mild climate for outdoor activities, like camping and hiking, along with over 30 beautiful lakes for fishing, boating, and swimming. In this area, the karst terrain of limestone and sandy lake bottoms allows water to naturally seep from the lakes downward into the Floridian aquifer. Purpose: The Executive Director has primary responsibility for the leadership and safe operation of the YMCA Camp Immokalee in accordance with its general policies. Specifically, the Executive Director is accountable for the development of programs, staff, the facility, along with financial development, fiscal management, and board development. The Executive Director, in coordination with the Vice President of Operations, maintains effective communications and collaborations with alumni, donors, supporters, and community agencies. Given the unique quality of the camp environment, the Executive Director's role during summer camp is hands-on leadership, exemplifying the highest YMCA values and standards in creating an exceptional camp experience. This role will invest significant time in building and strengthening relationships in the community resulting in collaborations and ultimately greater impact in the community. Essential Functions: Prepare the annual income and expense budget, operating and administering within guidelines, and achieving set goals. Monitor financial performance monthly and make necessary operational adjustments to achieve approved budget. Update year-end forecast, as needed. Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of staff. Develop and monitor specific, measurable attainable goals with direct reports and staff. Evaluate staff achievement and provide learning opportunities to strengthen areas for improvement. Recognize and reward or coach/counsel as needed. Develop innovative quality experiences throughout the year to delight participants, parents and partner organizations. In conjunction with Camp Director and Program Director, increase participation by enhancing systems for camper recruitment, weekend events, and off-season programs. Lead a culture of exceptional customer service and create a seamless delivery of programs. Develop a plan for camper sustainability. Build and lead the Camp Immokalee Advisory Board with relevant strategies and tactics that result in meeting the Association's overall financial and volunteer development goals. Provide leadership and direction to board development activities including: Recruitment of all board members, development of financial resources, cultivation of donors, strategic planning, board and committee meetings. Provide primary leadership and direction to all financial development activities such as the annual campaign, major gifts, foundation and corporate giving, direct mail, planned giving programs and special events. Develop and maintain relationships with funding partners, community organizations, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Respond to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of, and participation in, all programs. Maintain proper records/department files. Assure compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensure that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Identify new revenue streams through grant opportunities and creative mediums. Work directly with the Association's marketing department to develop marketing plans and create a strong awareness for Camp Immokalee. Establish a working relationship with all Branch Executives, Vice Presidents and Association leaders to build a partnership toward achieving Camp Immokalee's enrollment and marketing goals. Change Capacity: Creates a sense of urgency and positive tension to support change. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required. Knowledge of camp programs - preferable 3+ years' resident camp experience with ACA accreditation. Five years as a director or supervisor preferred. Demonstrate ability to develop a strategy and implement through change management. Proven ability to take initiative and ability to make decisions independently. Experience in developing, monitoring and controlling budgets. Ability to use technology to drive camper and staff experiences. Strong public relations skills with excellent written and oral presentation skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: CPR; First Aid; AED. Physical Demands: This position requires the following: Seeing, hearing, writing, standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting (50 lbs.), pushing (50 lbs.) and pulling (50 lbs.) Family housing is provided in the top 5 School District in Florida - Clay County Schools.
