Job Description:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Director of Creative Media & Branding who will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and creating content in support of the operational and strategic aspects of the program. This person will explore and implement effective ways through various media outlets using color, type, illustration, photography, and various print and layout techniques to promote the overall brand while ensuring that all Florida Gators brand requirements are met. Other responsibilities include helping to maintain brand management of the Florida Gators and individual athletic programs as assigned. Including consistency of all creative designs and productions. Specifically, social media, internal/external printed materials including but not limited to: posters, print-advertising, brochures, flyers, t-shirts, invitations, schedule cards, event logos, facilities signage, team apparel, and other promotional items as assigned. This position must conceive design layouts within the Florida identity, edit and prepare for print. Take an active role in presenting and explaining concepts and graphics to departments. Develops a range of creative solutions that are sound and innovative, and is instrumental in providing input on policy direction and long-range planning including weekly updates on the status of assigned projects. Assist in the selection and managing of Interns, OPS, and Student Volunteers. Some travel may be required. This posting will remain open until a qualified candidate is chosen. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field and three years of related work experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement
    • Experience in project management, layout, design, typography, file organization and 4/c file preparation, and an understanding of basic design software which may include, but is not limited to Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Microsoft Office
    • The ability to keep up-to-date on new trends and innovative approaches in industry typefaces/design programs
    • Ability to prioritize and meet stringent deadlines
    • Ability to work a non-standard schedule which includes nights, weekends, holidays and overnight travel
    • The capacity to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds
    • Knowledge of social media, focusing on Instagram, Twitter and emerging platforms Preferred Qualifications:
        • Knowledge of athletics
        • Current knowledge of desktop publishing, and a comprehensive knowledge of press and pre-press technologies including process and spot color theory, varnishing, binding, trapping, paper selection and impositions
