Job Description:
Supervises
Assists the Director in selecting, training, supervising,
developing, and counseling University Benefits staff to ensure that
health & welfare and retirement benefit plans and programs are
administrated appropriately; ensuring consistent high levels of
customer service through the timely delivery of accurate
information and timely processing of transactions.
Monitor processes, workloads and quality control. Review daily
resource allocation needs. Forecast upcoming events and needed
resources. Develop, implement and present various training programs
for subordinates. Set performance expectations, train, coach,
counsel, mentor, and discipline staff as appropriate. Perform
cross-training and back-up support.
Manages
Manages aspects of the University Benefits Department including
organization of daily operations, and providing technical and
functional guidance to staff and to leadership.
Serves as the Retirement Coordinator joint liaison with the state's
Division of Retirement.
Extensive coordination with the Division of Retirement including
enrollments and plan changes.
Manages the day to day relationships with outside vendors including
Brokers/Consultant, COBRA, FSA, and Dependent Verification
administrators to ensure a high level of compliance and service is
provided.
Proactively partners with the HRIS, HR Liaisons, Payroll, and other
internal groups to achieve optimal results in customer
delivery.
Counseling and Problem Solving
Planning
Evaluates and as appropriate, develop and document Benefit
policies, practices, and procedures; ensure that these policies and
practices are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
and are consistent with plan documents, insurance contracts, and
other legal or regulatory documents.
Assist with execution of various projects and tasks that contribute
to the design, implementation, communication, and day-to-day
operational fulfillment of the benefit plans.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of employee benefit issues; trends
and regulations; network with peers, advisors, consultants, and
regulators.
Expected Salary:
$73,000 - $78,000, commensurate with experience
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of
relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
General knowledge of benefit and retirement plans as well as
knowledge of the State of Florida benefit and retirement
programs.
Experience in administration of benefit and retirement plans for a
large organization.
Management experience in a customer-service oriented
environment.
Master's degree in appropriate area and four years of relevant
experience.
