We're Looking For:We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented
Recreation Manager to lead the training and development of our
recreation team. The ideal candidate excels at fostering a culture
of safety and service, using data and metrics to ensure consistent

environment.What You Will Do:
- Oversee the management of operations and staff of all
Recreation, Fitness Center, and Safety Program, ensuring complete
compliance with hotel safety, service, and grooming standards
- Reports to the Assistant Director of Recreation
- Oversees the operation of the swimming pool area
- Oversees the pool programs such as towel issue, retail sales at
the pool, and pool concierge programs
- Interviews and recruits all Recreation, lifeguard employees and
Recreation vendors
- Reviews and submits vendor contracts to Director's approval
prior to the hiring and scheduling of an activity
- Establishes, ensures adherence to all departmental and Loews
Hotels guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Evaluates changes in guest needs, the hotel's guest mix, and
industry and competitive trends to recommend appropriate
product/service and operational changes to be made to ensure guest
and employee satisfaction, and to maintain market dominance and
exceptional financial returns
- Prepares seasonal recreation activity schedules and
participates in the planning and development of holiday and special
event programs
- Ensures proper posting of activities and special event
information
- Maintains optimal staffing levels within forecasted budgetary
guidelines
- Completes appropriate shift reports
- Reviews/maintains daily payroll records/reports
- Evaluates individual employee performance, determining
improvement and training needs and advancement requirements
- Communicates information about hotel and recreation programs to
all guest contact departments to facilitate greater utilization and
to promote incremental revenues
- Ensures that all recreation programs are executed in accordance
with all hotel and safety guidelines
- Inspects the general appearance and functionality of all
activities/recreation spaces including sanitation, temperature,
lighting, and musical elements
- Responsible for accurate recording and submittal of payroll
information
- Schedules and coordinates monthly recreation staff
meetings
- Maintains the clean and excellent working condition of the
following areas: pool deck, game room, and any other hotel space
set up for a planned recreational activity
- Assist in compliance of Aquatics Training Program
- Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems
and/or unusual matters of significance
- Complies with Loews Hotels uniform and grooming guidelines
- Other duties as assignedYour Required Experience and
Qualifications Includes:
- Minimum one year of recreation/aquatics supervisory
experience
- Must be able to swim and be comfortable in and around water for
an entire shift
- Must be able to complete and maintain current Lifeguard
certification to include written and practical exams
- Excellent communication skills-oral and written
- Strong leadership skills
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and
holidays
- Must complete monthly in-service training requirements
- Must hold clean motor vehicle driving record upon request
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a
flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Associate's degree in a related field (Preferred)
- 3 or more years of experience in training and/or the recreation
or pool function (Preferred)
- Licensed Lifeguard Instructor certification (Preferred)
