Medical Coder (Certified) / Medical Records Supervisor

Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. We are seeking an knowledgeable and experienced Health information management (HIM) Coder Supervisor to join our team!

Job Summary :
This position requires the following:
Process closed records for diagnostic and procedural coding
Filing
Maintain coding statistics for hospital and clinics
Subject-expert in all matters related to procedural and/or diagnostic coding
Answer in-house coding-related inquiries
Customer service focus
Ability to meet deadlines
Coordinate and prioritize job activities
Interact with all sectors of the public and cooperate with management and other staff
Be flexible
Ability to handle stressful situations
Ability to be accurate with attention to detail
Ability to maintain privacy of PHI
Coder, HIM, Medical Billing, Medical Coder, Patient Accounts, Medical Records, Healthcare

Requirements:
The successful candidate will meet these requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Current certification in ICD-9/CPT-4 coding and ICD-10CM/PCS.
At least 4-years of progressive in-patient and out-patient medical coding work.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong computer skills overall.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge of Health Information Management (HIM) required.
Thorough knowledge of ICD-9/CPT-4 and ICD-10 CM/PCS coding sets.
