Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Recovery Center - Gainesville, Florida
Duties

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC) serves in the PRRC as a Recovery Coach, group facilitator, and transports Veterans into the community for integration outings.

Major Duties Include:

• 
  
• Provides patient education related to medications, wellness, and other medical and psychiatric issues
  
• Assesses and reports changes in condition to team providers
  
• Diagnoses, prescribes, and treats a variety of minor acute and complex medical and mental health issues
  
• Provides assistance with medication management as needed
  
• Provides medication education to Veterans, their families, and community-based partners
  
• Facilitates groups in the community and clinic setting; Transports Veterans into community
  
• Provides community-based services through analysis of barriers to care and intervene to change or improve systems to mobilize therapeutic resources needed by the patient for optimum outcomes
  
• Provides consultation and liaison services within areas of the North Florida South Georgia Veterans Health System based on specific Veteran needs within PRRC
  
• Provides wellness assessments as part of the initial intake assessment for all referred Veterans
  
• Conducts counseling and psychotherapy interventions through generally accepted methods of brief therapy, including individual therapy, group therapy, marital or couple therapy, and family therapy; Psychotherapy denotes a formally structured relationship between the therapist and the patient for the explicit purpose of effecting negotiated outcomes
  
• Establishes and formulates the need for appropriate level of care to include voluntary and involuntary inpatient hospitalization through the referral to the Managing Physician/PRRC Psychiatrist
