AST/ASO/FULL PROF-Vascular SurgeryJob No: 529171Work Type: Multi-Track FacultyLocation: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)Categories: Medicine/PhysiciansDepartment: 29141900 - MD-SURGERY-VASCULARJob Description Classification Title: AST/ASO/FULL PROF-Vascular SurgeryJob Description: The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine in conjunction with the Malcolm Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Centers seeks applicants for a faculty position in the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy to meet our expanding clinical practice. Rank and tenure status will be based on education and experience. However, the major focus of this recruitment are individuals starting their academic career. This new physician will join a group of nine vascular surgeons with a strong reputation for excellence in patient care and an established track record of NIH and industry-funded research. The position is for a jointly appointed UF/VA faculty member with a full-time (8/8ths) VA and 0.5 FTE UF appointment. Their primary clinical assignment will be at the Gainesville VA, joining two full-time VA-based faculty members as the third partner within this practice. The Division provides all clinical care for UF Health Shands Hospital and the Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Centers immediately adjacent to the Shands Hospital. Both institutions provide care for a large geographic referral area and are recognized as their region's leading tertiary care institutions. The volume and complexity of the cases at both institutions are very good, and the Division has mature, established practices in complex aortic diseases, lower extremity occlusive disease, complex hemodialysis access, and the full spectrum of venous diseases. The Division has a long-standing commitment to both Resident and Fellow education, and it is anticipated that the new surgeon will be involved in this effort. In addition, applicants will be provided dedicated time to pursue their academic interests. The Division of Vascular Surgery has active programs across the spectrum of basic, translational, and clinical research. Faculty within the Division pride themselves on the importance of mentoring and maintaining the infrastructure for high-quality research. Recent junior faculty recruits have been highly successful in obtaining national, peer-reviewed funding.Expected Salary: Salary is negotiable based on education and experience.Minimum Requirements: This position requires an MD degree or equivalent; board certification or eligibility in vascular surgery and competence in both open and endovascular techniques.Preferred Qualifications:Special Instructions to Applicants: All Applicants must apply at: .
