Job Description:

Pathologist Assistant needed to work in a CLIA certified surgical grossing laboratory, assisting in daily workflow and performing grossing, photography, and frozen sections.





**Job Description:**

* Assist pathologist in grossing of specimens, gross photography, accessioning of surgical specimens, and instruction of residents and medical students
* Perform frozen sections and other related duties
* Direct and assist in daily workflow of laboratory staff and house staff
* Ensure proper specimen selection for accurate diagnosis and frozen section performance
* Work with various tests, including flow cytometry, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, and frozen sections





**Qualifications:**

* Meet qualifications for CLIA high complexity testing personnel
* Option 1: Bachelors' or Masters' degree from an accredited American Association of Pathologists' Assistant program
* Option 2: Bachelors' degree from an accredited college/university and completion of NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program within the last 5 years
* Option 3: Medical degree (including foreign Masters level) or higher may substitute for Bachelors degree with five years of clinical experience in Anatomic Pathology and clinical experience within the past 24 months
* American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred
