Job Description:

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital currently seeks a highly qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as an EMS Coordinator within our esteemed institution. This pivotal role assumes responsibility for overseeing the collaboration between pre-hospital emergency medical service providers and our hospital’s emergency care facilities. The RN Coordinator EMS will play a crucial part in developing protocols, ensuring quality assurance, and leading continuous improvement efforts to enhance patient care during the transition from on-site emergency response to hospital-based treatment. This position requires a strategic thinker with a robust background in emergency medical services as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. Liaise between hospital staff and external EMS providers to facilitate effective communication and service integration. Develop and implement EMS protocols in line with current medical regulations and standards. Organize training sessions for EMS staff on hospital procedures and patient care standards. Monitor and report on the performance metrics of EMS services to hospital management. Participate in community outreach programs to promote public health awareness. Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient transitions from EMS care to hospital care. Strong leadership and organizational skills Proficiency in EMS and hospital-based software systems Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Capability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid RN license BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification preferred PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) or equivalent preferred
