This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction
Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You
must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in
accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within
four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000)
and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the
VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete

Duties include but are not limited to:
The Suicide Prevention Coordinator will facilitate suicide
prevention strategies at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans
Health System (NF/SGVHS).This advanced practice licensed social
worker must use a high level of skills to develop and implement
local and national protocols for Veterans at increased risk for
suicide, including the tracking and monitoring of high-risk
patients, responding to referrals, case managing care, conducting
VA and community outreach activities, and providing education and
support to VA staff.

- Citizenship. US Citizen.
- Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade
level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice
skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional
competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's
degree training from a nationally recognized professional
organization or university that includes a defined
curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised
- Licensure. Individuals assigned as the social worker program
coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice
level and can provide supervision for licensure.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
In addition to the experience above, candidates must demonstrate
all of the following KSAs below:
- Knowledgeable of program coordination and administration, which
includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
- Proficient in writing policies, procedures, and practice
guidelines for the program.
- Have the ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned
to the program.
- Have the ability to organize work, set priorities, meet
multiple deadlines, and evaluate assigned program area(s).
- Have the ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance
within clinical practice.
Preferred Experience: Experience in Mental Health Social Work,
specialized experience working with persons who are experiencing
Mental Health Crisis, must be able to travel between facilities and
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. May be
required to work weekends and holidays based on patient care and
service needs. The selectee may be required to work or travel
between any of the locations within the NF/SGVHS.
