Underwriter will identify, develop, and implement complex
underwriting and corporate initiatives focused on driving
profitability and operational efficiency. The position orchestrates
Underwriting Decision Engines Change Controls, Vendor support, and
analyzes Underwriting processes. The position requires critical
thinking skills, strong communication, project management and the
ability to execute and drive successful results.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review underwriting procedures, products, and
underwriting services focused on increasing profitability, customer
experience, and operational efficiency.Advanced understanding of
underwriting rules and guidelines to create, test and maintain
underwriting decision engines.Maintenance of Personal Lines Vendors
Products and Services including upgrades, invoicing, auditing of
products and service, and customer support.Conducts department
user-acceptance testing; and warranty post-testing to ensure
project success. This includes creating test plans for User
Acceptance testingReview and manage reported production errors
though to resolution.Compose executive proposals, concept documents
and other business documents.Communicates with all functional areas
of the organization.Proactively identify trends and develop
solutions.Applies advanced concepts of risk management to groups of
policies.Liaison with Underwriting Project Managers and Systems/IT
on strategic projects.Develop project requests including
cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI) analysis.Manages
projects from inception to completion including reporting on
status, developing making modifications as needed, creating
executive summaries, and leading the effort with key
stakeholders.Monitor and evaluate weather or any other potential
catastrophic event and make recommendations to the executive
leadership to suspense and restore binding for all product lines
across all divisions. Execute approved recommendations.Additional
duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no
supervisory responsibilities.

and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B.A.) preferred in Business,
Marketing, Statistics, Finance, or Risk Management and 5+ years
industry experience in key functional areas Underwriting, Pricing,
Claims.COMMUNICATION SKILLSThe ability to gather and disseminate
information to and from other departments is a critical element of
this position. Qualified candidates must be able to display
exceptional communication skills with respect to gathering,
organizing, and communicating information to other departments
including management.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and
interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write
reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from
various departments and managers.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add,
subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with
mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical
inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
situations.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and
deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSInsurance designations
are desirable.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job
successfully, an individual should have an advanced working
knowledge of internet/intranet software and the MS Office products
including Word and Excel. SQL, Access, or other database experience
preferred. Must have knowledge of computer equipment.PHYSICAL
