to join our team as a Cord BloodRecords Specialist in
Gainesville,FL.

ineach community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in
support ofongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related
activities.
What You Will Be Doing
This position is responsible for the filing, organizing
andmaintaining cord blood donor records, conducting routine
communicationactivities with cord blood registries and assisting
with developing andmaintaining departmental statistics. This
position is also responsible forassisting management in the
coordination of projects and for providinghigh-level administrative
support.
Responsibilitiesinclude (but are not limited to)
- Perform the cord blood record review process and ensure timely
review,accuracy and completeness of records in compliance with
federal and stateprivacy and confidentiality requirements
- Perform all job functions and maintain permanent records
inaccordance with the blood center's Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs)
- Manage cord blood unit (CBU) files and all related documentsby
performing data entry in Cord Blood Registry (Emtrax) and
maintaining logs,spreadsheets, donor records, CBU records and
SOPs
- Assist in preparation of departmental reports for trendingand
tracking
- Participate in quality management activities regarding
CBUfiles
- Complete exclusion reports/forms for any units deemedunacceptable
to list on the national registry
- Ensure all bankable unit files are reviewed appropriatelyby the
designated personal within the required timeframes
- Monitor timelines established with each task on an ongoingbasis
and report to the Cord Blood Operations Manager about any delays in
thereview process
- Assist with compiling, reviewing and submitting reports toHRSA
and FDA as required
- Represent and communicate Cord Blood and LifeSouthfavorably to
the public and to the participating institutions
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license. Must meet and maintain LifeSouthdriver's
eligibility requirements
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple
assignmentsconcurrently
- Basic computer skills and competence with the MicrosoftOffice
Suite
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and inwriting
- Ability to follow moderately complex oral and
writteninstructions
- Ability to interact professionally with all customers,
bothexternal and internal
The Ideal Candidate WillPossess
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Previous blood banking, quality assurance or cord
bloodexperience

This is a full time position. Starting salary range is $14.00 -
$15.40 an hour.Background check and drug test required. Equal
