Spherion Gainesville FL has a client, who is a global, high-tech engineering group, looking for a Sourcing Specialist. There is a need for a Sourcing Specialist in both the Electrical and Fabrics Divisions.This position is to help support production and assist with development of sourcing strategies, and manage supplier relationships.Let's get to work.

This is a Direct Hire Opportunity.

Location: Alachua , FL
Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
Salary:$25-30 /hr.

Responsibilities:
- Manage new and/or existing supplier relationships. Solicit bids, evaluate price and prepare recommendations
- Manage the new supplier process for the department
- Gather the required documents and coordinate with the Sourcing and Finance personnel
- Manage the sourcing ECN process for the department and coordinate the proper disposition; new part vs existing part (rolling change, rework or scrap)
- Pull associated drawings for supplier quotes
- Work as the liaison between engineering and suppliers for electrical component deviations / alternatives to keep the production schedule on track
- Escalate and help to resolve issues with supplier payments resulting in Credit Hold situations
- Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current
- Participate in meetings with internal and external customers along with being a liaison between Supplier, Quality Manufacturing and Engineering departments
- Company Policies and Procedures including Supplier Sustainability initiatives

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Ability to read and understand CAD drawings
- Ability to perform independently, across the department and/or with cross functional groups
- Fluency in both written and oral English; Spanish is a plus
- Must be able to sit at desk for long periods of time

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years professional related work experience including previous material sourcing and procurement experience utilizing global and domestic supply chains for products and components
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and working knowledge of ERP/MRP and their applications are required
- Bachelors or advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
- ISM CPSM and/or APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
- LSSGB - Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a plus
- Experience with electrical based commodities such as contract manufacturing for electrical control panels, cabinets and wire harnesses
- Experience with Mechanical commodities such as bearings, roller chain, etc.
- Experience with Indirect materials and services is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 10-30%
