Description: The Director is expected to facilitate University-wide
strategic informatics, data science, and artificial intelligence
research through strengthening and building faculty teams,
acquiring grants, fund-raising, and recruiting new faculty. The
Director will report to the Vice President for Research. The
University of Florida, a public land-grant institution, is a member
of the Association of American Universities (AAU), and one of the
five largest universities in the nation with 38,000 undergraduate
and 10,000 graduate students. UF research expenditure were $1.25
billion in FY2023, placing the university among the nation's
leading research institutions. UF is among the nation's most

undergraduate degree programs, 200 graduate programs, and 30
combined degree programs. UF is a perennial national leader in
attracting outstanding students, faculty, and staff, as well as in
commercializing research in technologies and companies. Expected
Salary: Commensurate based on experience, education, and
qualifications.Minimum Requirements: Candidates should have a
Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M., D.D.S., or equivalent Preferred
Qualifications: The candidate should have a strong record of
successful, multi-disciplinary research and some administrative
experience and commitment to working with researchers and educators
in data science / informatics / artificial intelligence in the
areas of algorithms, analysis, and problem domain applications. The
academic appointment of the Director is expected to be as an
Associate or Full Professor in an appropriate Department and
College, based on the candidate's qualifications and
