need to reapply. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of
Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is inviting applicants for
several full-time Neonatologist positions in the Division of
Neonatology as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor
rank at a tenure/non-tenure accruing level based on qualifications.
Our clinical neonatology program staffs 6 area Level 1 through
Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Units. The clinical assignment will
be exclusively or predominantly at our Level 3 and Level 4 units
that admit 700 and 650 neonates per year, respectively. All outborn
neonates born in Florida within the Jacksonville catchment area
with birth weights less than 1251 are transferred to the Level 3 of
Level 4 NICU allowing for geographically robust clinical studies in
the highest risk population. We also receive neonates from
Southeastern Georgia and the Florida Panhandle. We are an active
participant in the Vermont-Oxford Network and in the Florida
Perinatal Quality Collaborative. Major responsibilities for this
position are patient care and teaching. We will review applications
from any board-certified or board-eligible neonatologist. We are
looking for a variety of applicants, including new graduates from
fellowship training as well as candidates with an established
record of quality improvement and/or clinical outcomes research or
who have mentored academic growth of junior faculty. We are looking
for individuals who have demonstrated a zest for teaching of
pediatric residents and advanced practice providers, continued
personal professional development, an affinity for continuous
quality improvement and/or outcomes-based research, and skills in
working as part of a large team. This position will report to the
Chief of the Division of Neonatology and Chair of the Department of
Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine -
Jacksonville. Following is a partial description of duties and
responsibilities:
- Provide clinical critical care to neonates and newborns at the
6 hospitals staffed by our division of neonatology as assigned by
the Chief, Division of Neonatology and/or designee.
- Teach and supervise the care of pediatric residents and
advanced practice providers.
- Participate on committees to represent the Department of
Pediatrics as required by Chief, Division of Neonatology and/or
designee as required.
- Participate in monthly department faculty meetings,
administrative functions and institutional committees as
requested.
- Develop new and support ongoing divisional academic activities
for the purpose of advancing the careers of junior faculty. With

MD/DO/MBBS degree, be board-certified in Pediatrics and
board-eligible/board-certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and
be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Florida and for
credentialing at area hospitals. Preferred Qualifications: Looking
for individuals who have demonstrated a zest for teaching and
continued personal professional development, an affinity for
continuous quality improvement and/or outcomes-based research, and
skills in working as part of a large team. Preference will be given
to individuals who have a track record of mentoring junior faculty
in their clinical development and academic endeavors and/or have
experience with collaborative multicenter research or large data
