Our business users depend on the Business Intelligence team for accurate and timely information to help make Tower Hill one of the most successful property insurance companies in Florida. The preferred candidate is someone who seeks challenges and personal growth, enjoys solving problems, and can quickly teach themselves new concepts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Design data models and reports in Power BI
  • Translate requests from business stakeholders into actionable reports
  • Meet with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and communicate progress
  • Collaborate with team members in one-on-one setting
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries
  • Prep data for reports and analysis
  • Peer review work of other team members
  • Plainly communicate technical issues and concepts to business stakeholders
  • Support automated report distributions

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Applied experience working in Power BI with intermediate or better proficiency in DAX and Power Query
    • Applied experience in SQL with intermediate or better proficiency
    • Understands star schema data architecture and dimensional data modeling
    • Working knowledge of git and GitHub in a team setting
    • The following are not a requirement but will be strongly considered a plus:o Prior experience with Tableau, specifically converting Tableau reports to Power BIo Applied experience with Power BI Paginated Reportso Working knowledge of Pythono Working knowledge of dbt on Snowflakeo Understanding of Property and Casualty insuranceLANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
